History Mississippi Highway 607

the road became part of ms 607 part of 90 , 11 since 1928, , of became paved 1934. in 1936, new road built 90 south of slidell, , 90 rerouted it. road between 11 , 90 became ms 11-90. 1939, 90 moved new road, bypassing old one. ms 11-90 designation temporarily removed in 1942, , restored next year. in 1948, ms 11-90 s designation removed, , road became part of ms 43. between 1958 , 1960, i-59 , i-10 proposed. meanwhile, united states army corps of engineers began buying land in hancock county mississippi test operations in 1962, later became stennis space center. in 1967, ms 43 s alignment moved east of nasa s test site, , old alignment became ms 607. north , south of test area state maintained. in same year, ms 607 s interchange i-10 completed. in 1971, ms 607 south of stennis space center became divided highway.
