history
oklahoma wesleyan university founded wesleyan church provide higher education within christian environment wesleyan youth. central pilgrim college predecessor, founded on campus in bartlesville, oklahoma series of mergers of several schools: colorado bible college (colorado springs, colorado), pilgrim bible college (pasadena, california), , holiness evangelistic institute (el monte, california). central pilgrim college renamed bartlesville wesleyan college in 1968, following merger of pilgrim holiness church , wesleyan methodist church become weslayan church. in august 2001, bartlesville wesleyan college became oklahoma wesleyan university.
in 1972, okwu merged kansas school, miltonvale wesleyan college. okwu became four-year college having 1300 students.
