History Vulpecula
the constellation, under full name of vulpecula , anser , can seen on bottom of c. 1825 star map urania s mirror.
in late 17th century, astronomer johannes hevelius created vulpecula. known vulpecula cum ansere ( little fox goose ) or vulpecula et anser ( little fox , goose ), , illustrated goose in jaws of fox. hevelius did not regard fox , goose 2 separate constellations, later stars divided separate anser , vulpecula. today, have been merged again under name of fox, goose remembered name of star α vulpeculae: anser.
