the pontsarn viaduct 455 feet (139 m) long , 92 feet (28 m) height, whilst cefn coed (or pontycapel) viaduct 770 feet (230 m) long height of 115 feet (35 m).


torpantau tunnel through beacons 667 yards (610 m) long. @ elevation of 1,313 feet (400 m), highest railway tunnel above sea level anywhere in britain. exiting south-east portal of tunnel, line descended 7 miles (11 km) along 1:38 (2.6%) gradient side of glyn collwyn , (later: 1931) talybont reservoir.


talyllyn tunnel situated @ west end of former talyllyn station, 5 miles (8.0 km) east of brecon. 674 yards (616 m) long, , built in 1816 hay railway.
