in february 2017, khan provisionally suspended under anti-corruption code of pakistan cricket board (pcb). part of ongoing investigation organisation s alleged attempts corrupt 2017 pakistan super league. on 18 february, khan, along teammate khalid latif, formally charged pcb violating anti-corruption code. on 20 march, summoned pcb anti-corruption tribunal hearing , given until 5 may submit formal reply. on 30 august 2017, sharjeel khan banned 5 years forms of cricket after being found guilty on 5 counts in violation of pcb s anti-corruption code. two-and-a-half years out of five-year sentence suspended. khan s ban took effect when first suspended, on 10 february 2017.
