within 3 years of founding @ yale, chapters founded @ bowdoin, princeton university, colby college, , amherst college. dke has grown 62 chapters , has initiated on 85,000 members across north america.


traditionally eastern seaboard fraternity, dke s yale chapter had reputation southerner s fraternity. 2 of original founders south , 13 out of 38 members of 1845 , 1846 south. although vanderbilt university claims dke s first chapter in south (gamma chapter, founded in 1847), vanderbilt university not founded until 1873. psi chapter @ university of alabama founded in 1847.

delta kappa epsilon s first west coast chapter founded @ university of california, berkeley on halloween night, 1876. dke chapter @ colgate university (hamilton, ny) 1 of dke chapters having temple building, 1 can entered mu dke members. lambda chapter @ kenyon college in 1854 built first fraternity lodge in america. delta kappa epsilon club of new york founded in 1885 , in residence @ yale club of new york city. delta kappa epsilon became international fraternity addition of alpha phi chapter in 1898 @ university of toronto, canada.

as of november 2017, delta kappa epsilon has 12 colonies, harvard university, cornell university. university of colorado - boulder, mcgill university (montreal), university of texas, university of western ontario, north carolina state, hampden-sydney college, university of delaware, rensselaer polytechnic institute, simon fraser university, texas tech university, ithaca college, , university of tennessee. however, ithaca college not recognize fraternities.
