afghanistan
the afghanistan program, isisc has been involved in since 2003, directed towards judicial , drugs sectors in afghanistan. program has seen involvement of isisc in training of on 2,700 operators within afghan justice system , has been engaged operators in counter-narcotics system. in conjunction united nations office on drugs , crime, isisc organized workshop on law reform in afghanistan in april 2008. in 2005, president m. cherif bassiouni independent expert on human rights in afghanistan un, reported abuse forces , private military contractors, afghan military , police forces.
iraq
isisc involved projects aimed improve education , training available, law students , government operators, in iraq within fields of criminal law , human rights law. isisc has carried out of these programmes in conjunction international human rights law institute. in 2007 isisc compiled set of guidelines , recommendations strategic, integrated plan future of iraqi s rule of law, sponsored office of prime minister , relevant iraqi institutions.
arab world
isisc has been actively engaged in programmes directed towards arab world since 1979. institute organises conferences , seminars students, academics , practitioners in legal field coming arab world, goal of fostering international co-operation in matters of criminal , humanitarian law. in more recent years, isisc has been engaged in technical assistance program in support of bahrain justice , law enforcement sectors on international protection of human rights , enhancement of investigatory , prosecutorial capabilities of office of attorney general , parallel technical assistance program in support of bahrain ministry of interior law enforcement , police officers.
macedonia
in 2006, isisc provided technical support program co-ordinated italian ministry of justice, public prosecutor s office of republic of macedonia , european agency reconstruction. project served further develop , enhance capacity of public prosecutor s office in helping establishment of legal framework in line eu standards, fostering implementation of rule of law, improving court procedures, tackling corruption , strengthening independence, effectiveness , efficiency of judiciary.

protecting human rights in north africa
the project established database of government, media , ngo reports , other public sources regarding events related conflict in libya began in march 2011. conducted study compiling history , context of conflict, providing chronology , assessment of events occurred, particular focus on allegations of human rights abuses involved parties. purpose of project supplement work of united nations commission of inquiry (un coi) on libya , provide resource post-commission united nations , icc work. project s final report converted 1,000-page book, titled libya: repression revolution .
post conflict justice
isisc engaged in research project on theme of post conflict justice, titled ‘fighting impunity , promoting international justice’. project created model guidelines implementation of post-conflict justice mechanisms appropriately , adequately address issues arising out of each post-conflict situation. project comprised number of regional , themed studies, carried out steering committee of experts, results of disseminated in 6 regional conferences. project carried out in co-operation international human rights law institute, association internationale de droit penal , irish centre human rights.
