history

the scarred formed in 2003 justin scarred, matt monkey hatcher, , isha rose. 3 had been in bands before , set work playing live shows such punk rock notables naked aggression, adicts, menace, cheap sex, skeptix, , more. after starting family, isha stepped down , replaced ben 9000, drummer of other notable bands such rezurex , jeffree star.

repression

the band recorded demo in room of radio station, , sent out underground fanzines, received reviews, including california s legendary mrr. capitalizing on reviews, band decided record full-length album , entered 459 audio studios in monrovia, california record debut album. in february 2004, band released first album, repression, before heading out on first u.s. tour. on next year toured country relentlessly, selling out thousand copies of debut cd , gaining attention in punk media not albums, live show.

the quick sales of repression led band entering studio record split seven-inch new jersey punk band void control. released in 2005, earning band more reviews. split-ep released on limited coke bottle green colored vinyl, sold out , has since become difficult find.

no solution

in august 2005, band offered record deal new york street-punk label. according band, thrilled receive offer, in debt, on verge of bankruptcy, , have had no other option end band. @ urging of label, scarred rushed rent-by-the-hour practice studio in downtown anaheim , had live set of 3 songs recorded filmmaker lewis smithingham, included in punk core records first dvd, pure punk rock released march 7, 2006. unfortunately, master copy of dvd had been scratched on scarred s set, causing audio , video on last segments skew. justin later comment regretted recording dvd @ all, due rushed , comparatively low quality of segment, honored included , featured alongside casualties, virus, , defiance, among others. according spring 2006 edition of loud, fast, rules! magazine, band had been recording songs on last 9 months 1 session @ time budget allowed. punk core s help, able finish album in december 2005, @ point set release in april, 2006.

after october tour, included both debut of new rhythm guitar player andy white of ktp, , dismissal after tour over, band set out on second clampdown u.s. tour friends , los angeles street-punk locals, destruct. date of washington, dc show canceled due stabbing @ venue previous night, on april 4, 2006 scarred s second album no solution released in stores. album received reviews united states , europe.skratch magazine praised diversity in feature in may issue of year, in which, oddly, justin hinted @ disappointment in not being able see album released on cassette tape, obsolete format. scarred went on road after returning april 2006 tour. scarred took 2 weeks off before heading out support cheap sex s final tour. on tour shows did well, plagued conflict within tour signal eventual breakup of cheap sex. scarred s drummer, isha, pregnant entire tour , husband , singer justin willits first child.

2007 – 2008

at end of tour, scarred released cover artwork forthcoming record, cancel recording sessions after 6 songs due fatigue , lack of funds label. played few shows during remainder of isha s pregnancy, including 1 cheap sex s drummer gabe @ allen theatre. baby born on march 21, 2007, , scarred announced via myspace returning work soon, starting third annual clampdown tour in june , july 2007, feature brad jamison of vengeance 77 on drums while isha still recovering. however, despite fans eagerly expecting arrival, accident forced scarred drop off tour day before departure, vocals/guitar player justin willits broke leg @ last practice. after several months of healing, scarred recruited ben 9000 on drums, announced fall 2007 tour, , posted several studio updates on youtube.com. fate have it, tour proved disastrous. not did several winter storms force cancellations of many of tour s shows, band ran out of money. after breaking down 4 weeks 7-week tour, band forced return home. isha returned drums in 2008 , original lineup seemed poised make comeback , finish delayed third album, band learned punkcore records had gone inactive, leaving album unfinished. complicating things further, bass player matt monkey hatcher relocated ferndale, washington band released limited 4-song digital ep, titled panic! featuring 3 songs have been sophomore punkcore album, , 1 song drummer ben 9000 of rezurex. recruiting studio assistant patrick clancy (of half past 2 , longway) finish out year, band on hiatus no bass player, , rumored have broken up. @ end of year, 2 songs panic! ep released split cd-ep chinese punk outfit noname in china, , limited 7 in germany.

at half mast

in fall of 2008, having heard scarred had been sitting on unreleased record, los angeles-based basement records owner chuck offered put out band s long delayed third full-length album. heading studio in march 2009, scarred laid down basic tracks in 4 days, including flying down original bass player matt monkey hatcher record. recording continued in kitchen of justin scarred s long beach apartment vocals, , tracks mixed, mastered, , sent off press, released in july 2009 @ half mast.

at time, drummer isha rose bowed out due tendonitis result of injury, seeing tour drummer ben 9000 become scarred s permanent drummer. band quietly recruited byron sinn, had played in prima donna , destruct, fill void while monkey worked on legal issues. after filling second half of 2009 small club shows received great reviews, band recruited nathanael felon fresno, california s martyrs fill out lineup on rhythm guitar.

2010 , on

with live lineup tested , in place, in january 2010 frontman justin scarred surprised fans announcing spend year concentrating writing brand new album, while other band members take 2010 tour respective bands, , ben 9000 drums controversial pop-figure jeffree star on world tour.

in late march 2010, media sources announced scarred playing unknown limited number of east coast tour dates sponsored dna energy drink florida punk rock band new threat. of april 15, 2010, according band s myspace calendar, dates scheduled july 8–20, 2010.
