mike s first work professional artist create woodcut pictures dust-jackets of books, while still student. became professional artist in own right @ end of 1960s, selling first picture 7 guineas. earliest pieces in own right exclusively in medium of etching. influence of mike s background in graphic design clear see in these first pictures, highly stylised, bordering on abstract. @ stage, however, mike s love of architecture, particularly industrial, becoming apparent. (an etching depicts workings of disused power station, theme mike revisit later in career.)

mike loves teaching adults of ability levels on residential courses in britain , abroad.

2011
