in 2000–01 cypriot cup, participated teams of cypriot first division, cypriot second division, cypriot third division , 8 of 14 teams of cypriot fourth division.

the competition consisted of 6 knock-out rounds. in preliminary round , in first round each tie played single leg , held @ home ground of 1 of 2 teams, according draw results. each tie winner qualifying next round. if match drawn, time following. if time drawn, there replay @ ground of team away first game. if rematch drawn, time following , if match remained drawn after time winner decided penalty shoot-out.
