in 2000, weather channel began multi-year reformatting of program schedule, converting one-program approach (embodied in weather center) multi-program schedule forecast programs. first changes occurred morning schedule, formerly composed solely of weather center am. 2 programs carved out of weather center initially, first outlook , weather today, debuted on january 3, 2000 (a third morning program, day planner, premiered in 2003). @ launch, weather today anchored heather tesch (who had made twc debut year prior) , marshall seese. weather today, local on 8s concept – in local forecasts shown 6 times hour – revived. 1 of segments featured on program travel desk , focusing on air travel , highway travel conditions.

in 2008, weather today underwent graphical relaunch part of twc s conversion high-definition broadcasts; between june 2 , august 12, weather channel s live weather programming began broadcasting in high definition new hd studio facility. marshall seese retired in november of year, , replaced nicole mitchell. in march 2009, tesch left weather today become co-anchor of day planner , replaced kevin robinson. @ point, storm tracker jim cantore joined show evening edition, canceled around time.

on june 22, 2009, stephanie abrams , mike bettes, both of whom hosted beyond forecast, took on co-anchors of weather today after former program s cancellation. abrams serves fill-in al roker on nbc s today, broadcasts new york city, jen carfagno , eric fisher both serve substitutes abrams.

on april 16, 2012, program revamped new on-air graphics. in addition, stephanie abrams began co-hosting show new york city 7-9 a.m. et only. 9 a.m. hour, mike bettes joined either eric fisher, jen carfagno or maria larosa atlanta. network gave format three-month trial run, planning move abrams permanently new york if had been successful. on july 30, 2012, abrams returned atlanta studio, , , mike bettes resumed hosting show 3 hours. however, 2 weeks later on august 13, stephanie abrams moved new york city studio full-time. , mike bettes continued host show 7 9 a.m. while maria larosa joined bettes 9 a.m. hour.

relaunch morning rush

on november 12, 2012, weather today relaunched, same hosts, under new title morning rush. in late 2013, jennifer delgado joined program. abrams remained co-anchor of morning rush, duties expanding 7 a.m. 9 a.m. (from 7 a.m. 8 a.m.), , delgado co-anchoring 9 a.m. eastern hour. twc got new graphics , music package called weather time in november 2013, morning rush , every other live programming show got upgrade.

relaunch amhq

the program relaunched on march 17, 2014, america s morning headquarters (amhq), mike bettes, maria larosa , sam champion co-anchors , anaridis rodriguez news anchor, anchoring program in atlanta studios, stephanie abrams reporting live new york city. debut episode of amhq averaged 207,000 viewers during three-hour time slot.

on january 26, 2015, meteorologists jim cantore , jennifer delgado joined sam champion co-hosts of program. mike bettes , maria larosa departed amhq on january 23. bettes named host of weather underground later year while larosa shifted weekends. weekend edition of amhq announced, meteorologists reynolds wolf , kait parker hosting 5:00 9:00 et. chris warren, stephanie abrams, jen carfagno & ari sarsalari common fill-ins on amhq.

on october 30, 2015, sam champion hosted final amhq show. moving new york city in january 2016 host primetime show there. jennifer delgado departed week later weather center live.

on november 8, 2015, amhq relaunched again in new timeslot, 5am-9am et. first hour branded amhq hosted jen carfagno & anaridis rodriguez stephanie abrams & jim cantore joining them beginning @ second hour.

on january 10, 2016, kait parker co-hosted final amhq weekend show , left twc. replaced kelly cass.

on february 24, 2017 anaridis rodriguez announced leaving amhq.
