when tapings series began, production staff forced alter plans showcase showdown slightly. original plan price right game played determine showcase participant, staff had not been able find enough vintage commercials , product prices use. thus, episodes featured traditional showcase showdown contestants spun big wheel.


the contestants spun in order highest lowest winnings, opposed daytime series did opposite, , object remained close 1 dollar without going over. reaching 1 dollar 2 spins still rewarded contestant $1,000 , bonus spin chance @ $5,000 or $10,000 more, provided went around. ties broken one-spin spin-off; however, if involved bonus spin, there spin-off no more money won.
