early life

ng born in dublin, ireland. mother ireland , father hong kong. ng trained classical violin , music theory age of 7. later taught himself piano, guitar , drums, , began composing own music eden project.


2013–2015: eden project

ng began independently releasing tracks eden project in 2013, achieving popularity through promotion networks. in 2014, released album kairos, in tracks statues , chasing ghosts saw him experimenting more subdued alternative style of music. in october 2014, released entrance ep, indie track circles contrasted familiar electronic style. popular tracks deviations usual sound. on 10 december 2014, featured on track scribble new york-based producer puppet, released through monstercat.


in 2015, ng further embraced indie style bipolar paradise ep, track fumes amassed on 9 million views on youtube. later announced discontinuing eden project, , released final call, last ep under alias. contained 2 covers, 1 of blank space taylor swift , other of crazy in love beyoncé. times these officially last song released under former alias.


2015–2016: change eden, end credits, ityttmom , futurebound tour

ng changed alias eden following release of final call, , began recording new work in spring 2015. end credits ep released free download worldwide on 8 august through uk-based label seeking blue records, ng s own imprint mcmxcv. ep consists of indie pop , alternative electronica tracks strong emphasis on vocals. 2 singles, nocturne , gravity , released in june , july, respectively. whole, ep has amassed on 14 million plays on streaming platform soundcloud.


on 22 march, ng embarked on end credits tour, concerts in dublin, london, toronto, new york city, los angeles, , san francisco. tickets sold out within week, , additional venue set in new york city due demand. tour concluded on 8 april.


shortly after end credits tour, ng announced new ep, think think of me, released on 19 august 2016. on 10 june 2016, first single, sex , released, featuring greater focus on vocals , instrumentation. month later, billboard premiered next single, drugs , day before official release on 15 july 2016. ep features fumes , formerly released under eden project, featuring gnash, in addition re-releases of 2 other eden project songs, xo , remastered version of circles. after release, ep charted on irish albums chart, becoming ng s first charting music.


on 7 september 2016, ng released second music video drugs , 360 degree video experience in virtual reality. video amassed 1.5 million facebook views in 1 week.


ng promoted think think of me through futurebound tour, began on 7 september 2016 in vancouver, british columbia, canada. tour included 33 performances in north america , europe, , concluded on 26 november final show in paris, france.


2017–present: festival shows , vertigo

eden embarked on festival tour in summer of 2017. selected few fans film experiences @ each show , post them snapchat account. on 2 september, ng performed final show of festival season @ electric picnic. during set, premiered official version of start//end . song had been leaked on soundcloud account in january.


on 28 september, start//end released on major music platforms first single upcoming album vertigo. single accompanied music video, has surpassed 1 million views after trending on youtube. video shot in various places in europe, north america , japan.


on 8 november 2017, eden hinted toward release of new single on social media. on 8 , 9 november, eden s website displayed coordinates people scavenged find posters hidden in various locations across world. gold officially released 10 november 2017 alongside announcement of vertigo world tour, span march 2018 may 2018.
