the st mamas church


it contains 1 of many churches in country dedicated st. mamas, popularly believed have lived hermit in cave near morphou. according local legend, hermit living in poor circumstances , when authorities tried tax him, evaded them. soldiers sent out , captured him on way town, saw lion attacking lamb, escaped soldiers, saved lamb, jumped on lion s , in way came town. bravery earned him exemption tax, hence traditional attribute.
