the namibia football association made formal complaint burkina faso fielded ineligible player, yaoundé-born herve xavier zengue, in games on 26 march , 4 june. burkina faso coach paulo duarte says player eligible has burkinabé wife. caf opened investigation, later dismissed protest saying filed long after stipulated period such appeals.
namibia indicated appeal decision caf and, if necessary, court of arbitration sport on 2 different points. firstly appeal had been filed match referee prior game burkina faso had not been forwarded caf , secondly such appeal in case not required due article 36.12 of competition regulations stated non-qualified or suspended player take part in group matches shall lose match penalty (3–0), in absence of protests/reservations .
on 10 january 2012, appeal dismissed court of arbitration sport.
