the location of bat yam on mediterranean makes popular beach-goers. bat yam has 3.2 km (2 mi) long promenade along ocean lined pubs , restaurants. city has 6 beaches, 1 of protected breakwater. museum of bat yam exhibits contemporary art. other museums include ben ari museum , ryback museum houses work of issachar ber ryback. there museum in memory of yiddish writer sholem asch, lived last years in bat yam, , small holocaust museum.
