2010–2012: career beginnings

watson first started playing after receiving guitar sixteenth birthday. ve never had lessons , admits. enjoyed playing guitar much. d play hours night, , try out new things make sure didn t stale. watson uploaded video of himself singing cover of bombay bicycle club s swansea on youtube in 2010 (using name holyloowis avoid attention friends). continued recording various pop covers , originals on following years, , number of people subscribed him on youtube channel increased rapidly.

2012: s got 4 sad songs on btw , record deal

after 3 years of uploading videos youtube channel, decided release first ep. watson recorded first ep s got 4 sad songs on btw in 2012 joe guy porter. record includes 4 tracks today? , nothing , bones , windows . set songs on ep out story, explains. today quite rubbish situation being used, , tale of end of relationship; windows looking after relationship ended; bones meeting new; , nothing being happy person. within days of ep s release, watson had attracted attention of every record label in land , inked deal warner bros. records. part of appeal, says, label s long-running success male solo artists diverse david gray, damien rice, , neil young. later year watson s second ep 4 sad songs released. included cover of lamplight , song bombay bicycle club.

2013: wild, 4 more songs, , songs friends

in 2013, watson toured australia supporting birdy, , played few surprise gigs in various locations. in addition, performed @ various festivals , tours, including supporting benjamin francis leftwich on may tour. in july 2013, watson released fourth ep 4 more songs , featuring cover of guillemots made lovesong no. 43 , demo version of new song, close . in november 2013, released fifth ep songs friends, included 3 covers, featuring different artist each track, namely gabrielle aplin, hudson taylor, , kimberley anne. ep included reworked version of if lead single.

2014: morning

in february 2014, watson announced upcoming debut album morning , due release in june. extensive writing sessions yielded majority of material features on album. written @ last possible moment, while others have been released before in sketch form, oldest being windows , featured on debut ep. m not fan of repackaging old material. original eps meant works in progress. , these versions more polished .]

2015-present: midnight

lewis stepped away limelight refocus , work on new material. regaining full control, able take time writing songs explored experience , talent and, wealth of new material choose from, entered studio , recorded entire second album in 2 weeks live band.

with choice of labels keen signature after 2 years away, lewis decided find new approach releasing music, partnering leading independent label cooking vinyl, , heading out on tour showcase many of new songs direct fans.

his new album midnight released on 24 march 2017.
